Watch out for
Where Amazon UK deliveries go wrong
- Every document you send gets a 997; missing 997s are the first sign of a connection issue.
- 855s are scored; late or missing acknowledgements hurt vendor metrics.
- The 856 hierarchy has to match what was actually palletised.

Which EDI documents does Amazon Vendor Central require?
At minimum the 850 purchase order in, 855 acknowledgement and 856 ship notice out, and the 810 invoice. 997 functional acknowledgements are exchanged for every document. FTP EDI handles all five in X12 4010.
What is a 997 and do I have to send one?
A 997 is an X12 functional acknowledgement confirming a document was received and syntactically valid. Amazon expects one for every 850 it sends you; FTP EDI generates them automatically.
